Open-Source Resources for DIY Kigurumi Masks
These models, parts, and references can help with a DIY Kigurumi Mask. Be aware free access to files does not necessarily permit commercial use, redistribution, or selling printed copies.
If this is your first time making a kigurumi mask, we highly recommend reading what to expect from a DIY Kigurumi Mask before choosing a model or material. And if this is your first time making a 3D printed prop in general, it's best to start on a smaller scale with other props before jumping into a full kigurumi mask.
3D Models
An existing model can shorten the design stage, but it still needs to be checked for head clearance, eye alignment, ventilation, wall thickness, closures, and your printing process. Dont just throw it into your slicer and press print.

MidDream_Kigu has released models for personal use along with a DIY Kigurumi Mask guide. Their downloads are also available through the MidDream_Kigu Thingiverse profile.
Other Models
Thingiverse hosts additional user-uploaded models. Yeggi aggregates listings from several 3D-model sites. Treat search results as unreviewed: inspect the geometry, source, license, and user examples before printing.
Components
Printing Materials
Commercial makers use several printing methods, most often being commercial large scale resin printers. Realistically however FDM printers are what most will have access to for kig sized prints.
PLA can deform in high heat, including a closed vehicle and is not quite recommended. PETG has reasonable heat resistance but is less rigid and tends not to print quite as cleanly, requiring more post processing. ASA/ABS has a great balance of strength and even stronger heat resistance, but is difficult to print on more entry level machines particularly at the size and scale of a Kigurumi mask. It does however enable some very high quality prints and can be chemically smoothed for a strong, clean surface finish.
A professional printing service may be more practical than buying large-format equipment for one build.
Latches and locks
If you are making a full shell, plan how its sections align, stay closed, and open quickly. A small hasp is one option, but magnets, latches, hinges, and other closures are also used.
A premade model may include mounting points without naming the required hasp/closure. You may need to source a different closure or modify the model to fit your needs.
3018带锁 hasp with lock
A “3018 带锁” (3018 with lock) hasp is one example of a more commonly used closure available through Taobao.
Local hardware and specialty suppliers may have similar closures. A printable classic-style hasp by Raffosan is another reference, however a printed one is going to be weaker than a manufactured one.
Amazon search results for small hasps can provide additional examples. Check dimensions and edge finishing carefully.
Eyes
Eye construction affects appearance, visibility, airflow, glare, and fogging.

White mesh: Part of the sclera provides vision and ventilation, often with a printed iris. Fine white eye mesh is sold for fursuit and costume use, this 0.5 mm-pitch mesh listing is one example.

Black mesh: A pupil, upper-eye shadow, or other dark region hides the viewing area. Basically similar to the white mesh but having the blacks of the eyes be the openings instead.

Lens eyes: A tinted transparent sunglass-like lens with an eye sticker on it

Follow-me eyes: A recessed, concave design creates the illusion that the eyes track the viewer. Making one yourself is a bit difficult due to the design considerations and required depth to produce the illusion.
Printing directly onto meshes may require dye-sublimation or another process compatible with the material. For most people without such equipment printable vinyl can be easier for eye designs while still also being decently humidity resistant.
Mask painting
Coordinate the mask's skin tone with the Hadatai you intend to wear. The more off the tone is from the Hadatai the more noticeable it will be. Make sure to check in natural lighting and not just under artificial indoor lighting.
